In 1992, Ed Hardy curated a gallery show bringing together (mostly but not exclusively tattoo) artists to reinterpret the classic tattoo image ‘Rock of Ages’. Most folks stayed pretty close to the source, but Daniel Higgs submitted a considerably different take on it. 
I put a scan of it on my flickr page a few years ago, but discovered a tattooed version (1993) of it while going through a stack of tattoo magazines (think about 400) that I took out of storage last night. 
I believe the photo credit went to a gent called ‘Famous Leg Greg’.
